Our #1 bestseller for over 10 years! Sūraja is our ultra-fine sifted, exceptionally silky henna available exclusively at SARAHENNA. If you want the same henna that we use for our professionally mixed henna paste, this is it!

Sūraja is harvested every year in October/November. We will always ship you the freshest crop that we have available.

We import Sūraja direct from the grower in Jodhpur, the City of the Sun (the name Sūraja is Hindi for "sun"). We have an amazing relationship with the family farm and have been sourcing from them directly since 2011.

What's Included

Packaged in a resealable pouch, perfect for small batches. Each package contains 100 grams of powder (makes about 300-400 small designs). Kilos are still shipped in individual 100g packages for freshest storage.

Shelf Life & Storage

Freshest during the first year, but when stored properly shelf life is 2-4 years. To maintain freshness, store in a cool, dark location. After opening the package, reseal tightly to minimize exposure to air.

How do you ship your ready to use henna?

Great question! Ready to use henna (and our jagua-henna blend) is extremely perishable.
We prepare and plan for it to be in transit, so by the time it reaches you it's in perfect condition.

We ship it frozen so that it can gradually thaw and "dye release" while in transit. By the time it arrives, it will be room temp and at peak freshness!

Get it right into the freezer, and keep it frozen whenever it's not being used.

Is henna and jagua safe for eyebrows & freckles?

Yes! Since our henna and jagua are only made with natural ingredients (that's why they're so perishable), they are safe for all your skin. That said, we always recommend a patch test and instructions are included with every order.

What's the shelf life of henna and jagua?

In powdered form, henna and jagua will last a couple of years or longer. Once mixed and ready to use, keep them frozen for best longevity.

In the freezer, ready to use jagua will last 12 months, henna and jagua-henna blend will last 6 months in the freezer.

All was fantastic, instructions easy to find and replicate on sarahenna website! Was big on henna in 2016, I'm only on day two of my designs tried and so far so beautiful (i was impatient and scratched henna off in 2 hours. Never made my henna, used about 3.5g to make 3 large cones, could have made them more flowable bit thats the beauty of this powder! You can make it to your preference, Gonna order more ASAP!

At first I was kind of sceptical of it but after seeing the reviews and trying it for myself I�m going to come back. I love how smooth the henna powder is and I really like the smell aswell. I followed the receipe on the sarahenna website and it was very silky and smooth and just very good to work with for thin henna art. Tbh the item matched the description and also my expectations. Sarah�s customer service was great too. She didn�t respond late or was rude or anything. I must say though that if you are buying internationally it will take some time. Sarah explained that to me too. Overall good henna and the essential lavender oil is good too ??
